Wallpapering, Cork

Feature walls and full rooms. Old paper stripped, walls lined where they need it, patterns matched and edges clean. A written price before we start.

Bedroom feature wall in green leaf-pattern wallpaper with a folded pasting table leaning against it

Hanging, stripping and lining

One wall behind the bed, a whole sitting room, or a hall and stairs. We take on:

  • Feature walls
  • Full rooms, including halls, stairs and landings
  • Patterned, textured, vinyl and paste-the-wall papers
  • Wide-width and mural papers
  • Stripping old paper and preparing the wall for paint
  • Lining paper under paint on rough or patched walls

Flat walls first

Paper shows every bump underneath it, so the wall has to be right before a drop goes up. Before hanging we:

Two lengths of patterned wallpaper on a pasting table with the pattern lined up at the join, and a paste brush beside them
  • Strip old paper and wash off the old paste
  • Fill and sand cracks, holes and old fixing marks
  • Size the wall so the paste grips evenly
  • Hang lining paper where the wall needs it
  • Mark a plumb line so the first drop is straight
  • Plan the pattern so the repeat lands well at eye level

Questions about wallpapering

How long does a feature wall take?

A single feature wall is usually a day, including prep. A full room is longer, and stripping old paper adds time. We give you a day count with the written price.

Do we need to move the furniture?

Clear the wall being papered if you can. Anything else can stay and we cover it.

Is the wallpaper included?

You choose and buy the paper so you get exactly what you want. Tell us the roll width, pattern repeat and the wall size and we will say how many rolls to order. Paste and lining paper we can supply and show on the quote.

Can you paper over old wallpaper?

We do not recommend it. Old paper is stripped, the wall is washed and filled, and lining paper goes on where the wall needs it. That is what gives a flat finish that stays up.

Do you work weekends?

Ask when you request a quote and we will tell you what is possible for your dates.
